Astec Wallmaster & Armatex Render Products
Wallmaster is manufactured by Astec, and its catalogue includes facade renders, Armatex textures and protective coatings. These related names describe a broad range rather than one interchangeable render product. The particular base and finish should be identified in the coating schedule.
Product ranges and their roles
Firewall and Ezy-Float renders
The range includes Ezy-Float CBR, RBB and Rota selections and several Firewall products. Firewall Rota-Render Non-Combustible is described as a polymer-modified mineral render; that description must not be transferred to every Firewall grade.
Levelling, patching and primers
Armatex High Build, Pre-Patch, Aggra-Prime and other preparation products perform different jobs. The correct selection depends on surface soundness, absorption, existing coatings and the proposed finish.
Armatex texture finishes
Cambridge, Light and Medium Stone, Pastina, Riverina, Travertine, Tuscany and Velvet are examples of named finishes. Trowel-on and roll-on materials offer different texture choices; an approved sample is the useful basis for comparison.
Protective wall coatings
The broader catalogue includes facade coatings such as EC-2000, EC-5000 and Energy Star ranges. Protection, sheen, colour and the compatible texture/base sequence need to be confirmed for the selected product.
Choosing a system for your wall
Treat performance claims as product-specific. A render’s fire-test description or the name of a waterproofing product is not evidence that every Astec or Wallmaster facade system has the same performance. Existing-wall refurbishment also needs adhesion and condition assessment before recoating.
