Sto Render, Facade & Insulation Systems
Sto Australia organises much of its range around complete wall systems. A specification may combine preparation, reinforcement render, mesh, a decorative finish and protective coating. This makes the wall assembly as important as the final texture when comparing Sto options.
Product ranges and their roles
Facade and insulation systems
StoTherm is an insulation-system family, while StoVentec R is a ventilated rainscreen. These assemblies include more than a render finish and require the correct substrate, fixings, reinforcement and detailing.
Preparation and reinforcement
StoLevell Novo, StoArmat products, glass-fibre meshes, StoPlex W and Sto-Putzgrund appear in the Australian technical library. They serve different layers and preparation functions; the nominated system identifies which components go together.
Stolit finishing renders
Stolit K is offered in different grain sizes, alongside finishes such as Stolit MP, MP Natural and Milano. The selected texture affects the appearance, while the base construction and reinforcement govern the underlying system.
StoColor and decorative ranges
StoColor coatings include X-black, Lotusan, Maxicryl and Lastic Satin. StoCalce and other interior finishes are separate decorative selections. StoSilent belongs to acoustic walls and ceilings rather than ordinary facade rendering.
Choosing a system for your wall
Begin with the project specification or the substrate manufacturer’s requirements. A render-only wall, insulated facade and ventilated rainscreen are different constructions. Certificates, appraisals and warranties need to match the exact assembly and its current documentation.
